Our commitment to sustainability is visible in various aspects of our business operations and products:
  1. Circular production: We use residual flows from the fresh produce sector, such as vegetables (bell peppers, leeks and carrots) to make vegetable chips. This reduces food waste and at the same time offers tasty and sustainable snack alternatives.

  2. Responsible raw materials: Our North Sea shrimps are MSC certified, which means that we contribute to sustainable fishing practices. Using local ingredients for snacks such as prawn crackers not only contributes to lower transport costs, but also to less CO2 emissions.

  3. Gluten-free and natural ingredients: We produce snacks that do not contain artificial additives such as e-numbers. By using natural ingredients and limiting salt and sugar, we respond to the growing demand for healthy snacks, without compromising on taste.

  4. Energy efficiency and sustainable transport: Our factory in Tholen uses energy-efficient techniques and our logistics are focused on minimizing the ecological footprint. The transport of our products is optimized as much as possible to reduce CO2 emissions.

Sustainability goals for 2030

Wilthagen is actively working on achieving the 2030 Sustainability Goals. We ensure that sustainability and social responsibility are embedded in our daily actions. By optimizing product development processes, sourcing raw materials responsibly and improving our production lines, we contribute to the broader social ambition to realize the SDGs.
